Global Studies Academy 11th and 12th Grade
In the 11th and 12th grade section of the Global Studies Academy, students work together to explore their college and career options as well as to build the academic foundation necessary to be successful in the 21st century world.
The 11th/12th section rotates its history and science schedules annually. In history, students study United States History and U.S. Government and Economics. These two classes help students build their understanding of our own American community—past, present, and future—as well as America’s role in the world community. In science, students study Environmental Science and Field Ecology. In Environmental Science, students learn how the environment affects world communities in terms of economics, health, production, and daily life; and in Field Ecology, they get hands-on experience exploring the natural world. In addition, 11th and 12th grade English focuses on American and Environmental Literature and on furthering students’ researching and writing skills.Students’ math courses vary depending on their current levels of knowledge. For more details on Seminar and Math Lab please see the Global Studies Homepage.
