    Expectations: 8th Grade Completion Criteria

In order to graduate from 8th grade and move on to high school, students must meet the following requirements:

    • Successful completion of all 8th grade classes.
    • A project that focuses on a student’s interests utilizing research, writing, and technology skills. Students will present their projects at the end of the year.

An active Individual Educational Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan may modify all above requirements.

Your Supervising Teacher will work with you and support you on each of these requirements, and the process should be rewarding and fun. If a student should fail to achieve any or all of the above requirements, a review board meeting may be convened to determine whether or not the student should be promoted to the 9th grade. Each case will be considered based upon the student’s individual issues and circumstances.
